Dr. Robinson came
to join the team of Uncas Veterinary Clinic in June of 2016. After graduating
from WCVM in 2004 Kim and her husband Joel, also a veterinarian, moved to
Sherwood Park and have practiced locally since. Kim is a passionate and devoted veterinarian
who has spent many years practicing in both regular practices, physical rehabilitation hospitals and emergency clinics. She loves that her job allows her to continue
learning every day, allowing her to become the best doctor she can be. Outside
of the clinic Kim enjoys running and hiking, she has participated in many
different running events over the past few years. At home she enjoys knitting
and crocheting while sharing her space with her Flat Coated Retriever (Freya),
her 3 cats ( Adi, Simon & Dhira), 2 guinea pigs ( Petunia & Lily) and
an African Red Bellied Parrot (Rocky).
She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After working at a variety of different clinics in the Edmonton area, Tanya came to Uncas Veterinary Clinic in June 2016. Dr. Bob Jones BA. D.V.M.
After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1973, Bob accepted an internship at Purdue University (Indiana, USA) in equine medicine and surgery. From there, he completed a residency in Equine Orthopedic Surgery at the Ohio State University. While at Ohio State Bob developed the use of massive bone allografts (bone from another horse) in the repair of major bone defects in horses (i.e. fractures, tumors etc...). In 1976, he was recruited on faculty at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to help start the first new veterinary school in the USA in 21 years. While there along with a large clinical caseload, Bob was responsible for teaching lameness in horses and continuing education seminars throughout the USA. While at U of Tennessee, they continued to advance the use of large bone grafts to include partial joint replacement in horses.
In 1981, the 'call of the north' brought Bob back to Canada. After two years of racetrack practice, he joined his wife Dr. Denice Schlingman in her practice, here at Uncas Veterinary Clinic. Bob continues to serve this community and the animals in it to this day when called upon.
In 2008 Karina graduated from Lakeland College and came to Uncas to do her practicum and never left. Karina takes every chance she gets to make a difference in both our clients and their pets healthcare. Outside of Uncas Karina makes a difference by volunteering with the Spay Neuter Task Force all over Alberta. Karina is someone who lives for her job and it shows in everything she does. When she isn’t at Uncas she is with her husband and 2-year-old daughter tending to all the different critters she has obtained over the years; horses, goats, chickens, ducks, an alpaca and of course some cats and dogs. When she can find the time, she enjoys agility and retriever training her dogs, riding/driving her horse and training her goat!
Ashleigh has been at Uncas since the spring of 2006 after graduating from the Animal Health Tech program at Fairview College. Her desire to make a difference in the life of both patients and their families is what makes Ashleigh such an important part of the team of Uncas. Throughout her 10 years in practice she has been a part of many interesting cases and has grown to love that aspect of the job. When Ashleigh isn’t working she can be found reading, gardening, or working with her horse, Phystian or playing with her cat Panga. Ashleigh has a large family and enjoys being an Aunty!
We are pleased to welcome Katherine as the newest R.V.T. to the Uncas team. She graduated from Lakeland College in 2008, where she was classmates with Karina. Through her years in the veterinary field she has worked in a variety of settings including Equine Reproduction and Small Animal Emergency. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her own pets and riding her horses.
In September 2016
Michelle joined us to help tend to our many patients and clients. Michelle is always
busy fulfilling the basic needs of our patients and takes the time to ensure
our clinic is clean and safe in preparation for the busy days we have here. She
moved from Korea to Canada in 2007 with her parents and brother. Six years ago
she started working as a V.M.A and we are so pleased to have her on our team
now. Michelle has three cats (Eddy, Cody and Yomi) and a rambunctious Lab cross
named Odhi. She enjoys spending her free time horseback riding.
After 26 years with a financial institution Donna came to work as a receptionist at Uncas Veterinary clinic. Donna enjoys interacting with our clients both on the phone and in person.
