Denice M Schlingman Bsc DVM
I graduated from Washington State University in 1980. After graduation, I went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, to do a large animal internship. There I met my husband Dr. Robert Jones.
We opened Uncas Veterinary Clinic in 1983, as an all species practice. I have a special interest in all species. Dr. Jones does the fracture repair, while I do the cruciates and other orthopedic work. Reproductive work on dogs and alpacas keeps me busy.
I gained an interest in camilids in 1980, when I had exposure to the then largest llama ranch in the USA. They are very interesting animals and I continue to learn and try to improve my veterinary skills on them.
Exotics and wildlife are a special love, which led to contracts work with the Edmonton Valley Zoo and Elk Island National Park. Strathcona Raptor center also brings in a steady supply of injured birds of Prey.
